Om Dhungel

Around the world, Bhutan is a country known for rejecting GDP as a measurement of prosperity, in favour of measurements of gross national happiness.

But happiness isn’t the only thing Bhutan is known for. Om Dhungel was one of over 100,000 Bhutanese refugees forced to flee from the country in the early 1990s, and spent over 6 years volunteering in a refugee camp in Nepal.

Om now lives in Australia with his family, and is a Director on the Board of Settlement Services International and of SydWest Multicultural Services.
