The big question following the release of the federal budget is: will the government’s reliance on small business being the engine room of innovation and jobs be enough to get the sluggish economy going? And will the tax cuts and deductions be enough provide the jobs people will need if they’re going to avoid being cut off various government payments and be eligible to receive the much touted child care subsidy.

This week On the Money unpacks the budget – we ask whether the government’s economic plan is working as well as Treasurer Joe Hockey says.

Episode features:

Richard Dennis , Director of the Australia Institute
