With the federal budget only ten weeks away it’s time to start zooming in on what different sectors in the community want from it. This week, we take a look at the budget’s impact on women. Federal governments used to produce a women’s budget statement as one of the official budget papers, looking at how every measure in the budget impacted women, but this practise ended in 2014 under former Prime Minister Tony Abbott. So in the lead up to International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, we thought we’d take our own look at last year’s budget and what women might want from the budget this year, from the time they enter the work force right through to retirement.
