Flight 110120 Astral Planes on Departure Lounge with Sasha Soh and Trev El Chino – Radio Script

Some new funk, soul and downtempo releases from artists we all know and love, like Martha High who was one of the key vocalists on James Brown’s tours.

To some younger / new talent like HIER SOIR, from Paris. Who I recently discovered on Bandcamp. She’s only released 4 tracks, and when I heard her cover Ginuwine’s “Pony” I couldn’t help myself listening to it on repeat for the rest of the train ride home. So I thought it might be worth a play. Stick around for that, I’ll play it at the end of the show.

Meanwhile here is Martha High The Italian Royal Family with a track she released last year: A little spark

Diemantle
Where: Bristol
Diemantle: Well known Duo: DJ Die and Digital Soundboy’s Dismantle. They met at Glastonbury when Mantle needed somewhere to rest his wellies and ended up in Die’s caravan which was called Retardis.
They released this track late last year on Gutterfunk’s label. It’s called Spirit World.

You’re tuned into Astral Planes on the Departure Lounge with Trev El Chino and Sasha Soh

Riobamba
Song: Hacia Tu
Released: 2019
Lable: Apocalipsis, from Brooklyn

That was Os Quais with Defeitos Perfeitos

Before That was Hacia Tu by Rio-bamba. That was released on the Apocalypsis label.
Before that was Diemantle with Spirit World.
All of these tracks were from 2019.

Coming up

L’Eclair and The Mauskovic Dance Band

He was actually born in Melbourne, but moved to New York to pursue his music. He has played with the likes of Maceo Parker, Fred Wesely and Gary Bartz. He released this album in December and it’s called An Extra Celestial Christmas. Here’s Precious energy.
