This week feels like a bit of a journey. I realised during the first half an hour that this week I was very drawn to songs that are rooted in grounding. Angie’s use of mantras in ‘Music’s Coming In’ and Hana’s use of field recordings and sounds of nature in ‘Changing Weather’ acted as grounding methods for me during this week. I hadn’t drawn this conclusion until I sat down in the studio this week, and spent time really contemplating the meaning of this week’s playlist.
I was joined by Sydney’s princess, Milly McPherson this week. She’s a twenty-year-old singer/songwriter and is getting ready to record her debut album. If you haven’t seen her around with her solo project, you may also recognise her as the former lead vocalist of “June and The Desert Flames”. She sat down with me this week to chat all about going solo, creating an album and the timelessness of Fleetwood Mac’s (super underground album) Rumours.
