Departure Lounge :: 3:00pm 18th Jan 2020
Events
Carib Disco
It’s a Carribean disco that totally flirts with Bass. 2 sound systems, 3 rooms, 3 vibes.
In the courtyard
We got the Afro Brazilliana crew holding fort. Full tropical disco vibes coming from the crew with deep crates. Expect Brazillian Boogie, Funk, Salsa Dura and shitloads of Afro Disco. The courtyard is the perfect place for these guys to do a sunset shindig.
Bass Room 1
Has Inner West Reggae Disco Machine with rig, full crew and MCs. The crew is psyched to be holding fort and will def have a long line of local talent lining up for your enjoyment.
Bass Room 2
Has the Unfuckwithable ForeignDub who are bringing down their rig to play some Jungle and Drum n Bass. I feel sorry for the staff that have to clean up after these guys. Shit’s gonna get crazy! With Sky Eater & Jah Tung & Chris Munky

Astral Planes on the Departure Lounge 18012020 – Script
I’ll be playing some recently released Somalian funk that was recorded in the 80s, but has since been collecting dust on an old reel in a Somalian radio station.
Luckily it was rediscovered and released last year on a german label called Analog Africa.
I’ll also play some unreleased electronica and some nu-disco.
Stay tuned. I’ll be on after this next track with Astral Planes.
You’re tuned into Astral Planes with Sasha Soh on the Departure Lounge. Bringing you new releases and unreleased funk, disco and electronica.
That was Rawl Aredo, by Steve Spacek. Being released in Feb on SPA Records.
Before that you were listening to a cover of Herbie Hancock’s “Ready or Not” by Temu – which was released late last year.
And before that was Because of you by Dur-Dur Band. The 80s somilian funk track that got recently found and released by Samy Ben Redjeb on his lable Analog Africa.
Sammy rediscovered a lot of other music in that dusty radio station so if you liked that one I highly recomend checking out his lable on band camp.
Stay with us we get into some wonky beats by Werkha, with his recent release Generation X on First World Records.
That was Indigo by Flamingo Pier.
Before I finish I wanted to do a shout out to all the beautiful musicians who have been releasing tracks with proceeds going to the bushfire appeal. I’ll share a link to those tracks in the show notes on the 2ser website.
