Ethiopia Plants 350 Million Trees in One Day

Ethiopia has managed to plant more that 350 million trees in one day. Previously, India held the record for planting 50 Million trees in one day back in 2016. The project aims to tackle Ethiopia’s deforestation issues, forest coverage in 2000 was only 4%, down from 35% a century earlier. Their main goal is to plant 4 billion trees by October and to achieve the Ethiopian government is encouraging each citizen to plant at least 40 seedings. The Daily ws joined by Dr Dan Ridley-Ellis, the head of the centre for wood science and technology at Edinburgh Napier University to discuss Ethiopia’s achievement.
