Why Every Generation Feels Entitled?
The Liberal government has often thrown around the phrase “the age of entitlement is over” – but for whom? Younger generations believe they face greater challenges in their life, including university fees and lower employment. On the other hand, older generations believe they’ve faced more hardships then and now, bearing the brunt of cuts and higher rates.
A Grattan Institute report titled ‘Age of Entitlement’ has revealed some key facts on the advantages and disadvantages each generation has. So which side is correct – who is more entitled, and what can be done to change this? For more we were joined by Brendan Coates, Research Fellow at the Grattan Institute to answer this very question.
