Evidence Supports Community Approach for Children Diagnosed with Autism

Currently, 1 in 10 Australian children aged between 5 and 7 access the National Disability Insurance Scheme, and numerous NDIS changes have been proposed to improve its sustainability and better support Australians with disability. In particular, evidence shows that for children diagnosed with autism, the exclusive use of specialised services within clinical settings does not appear to be what is best for most children.
