Excel Auto-correct Affecting Genetics

Recent research has shown that Microsoft Excel, used extensively by scientists for data entry and processing in their research, is creating errors in data gathered from genetics research due to its auto-correct function. This has significantly impacted the results from many papers in the field. As a result, many in the field are questioning the suitability of the programme and looking elsewhere for data processing solutions.

We were joined by Dr. Mark Ziemann: Lecturer in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Deakin University, and one of the principal contributors to the paper investigating this phenomenon, to tell us more.
