Exotic Animal Products In Fashion May Help Conservation

Fashion pieces made from exotic animal skin have always been incorporated by luxury brands as statement pieces and often highly sought after by collectors. However, with more buyers becoming ‘‘environmentally conscious’, brands are starting to remove animal product pieces to achieve ‘feel-good conservation’. But could simply halting production of exotic animal pieces, really be the best answer for animal conservation? Professor Rick Shine, who co-authored this research joined us to discuss this.
