Experiences of Being Born Through Sperm Donations
Did your parents ever tease that you were adopted? Well for some Australians, they were conceived through sperm donations. While it’s not technically adoption, the idea of being conceived through a stranger’s sperm brings up all sorts of questions. In fact, studies show that less than 35 percent of Australian children conceived through donors know about it! Some of them are now adults having their own families, though some are still searching for answers about who their donor is.
The Daily spoke to Dr Sonia Allan, Associate Professor of Health Law from Deakin University, about the experiences of donor-conceived children.
