The heavy rain is slowly easing today in Far North Queensland, after cyclone Jasper hit the area last Wednesday.

The flood warnings up in Cairns and nearby regions remain active, and emergency services continue helping the community.

Member from Cairns FM Amanda says she hasn’t experienced similar events like this before, and The Wire’s Roderick Chambers asked her what she heard when going to the radio station yesterday morning.
