The feature album this week on 2SER is the long awaited debut from local new wave heroes, Johnny Hunter.

A four-piece, featuring  Nick Hutt (vocals), Ben Wilson (guitar), Xander Burgess (guitar), Nick Cerone (bass) and Gerry Thompson (drums), Johnny Hunter are a group that have steadily become an intrinsic part of the underground of Sydney and Melbourne, while remaining unique within it.

WANT is a stunning first album, that is powered by soaring and anthemic lyrics, that rides on strong waves of melodic guitar and their own unique drive, hitting frequent high points throughout. Whilst couched in a poetic 80s aesthetic (and new romantic imagery) , the heart and energy make this stand out on its own, as it addresses such topics as generational shift, self-actualisation and toxic masculinity.
