The Indianapolis-born singer-songwriter (and co-founder of Big Thief) continues to break new ground on her fifth record, delivering a deeply vulnerable yet vital collection of watery acoustic folk and abstracted poetic lyricism that places Lenker firmly at the centre throughout. Her unique presence is amplified further on Bright Future by adopting an devotedly analogue recording process (allegedly with no digital production), recorded at Double Infinity analogue studio in the woods of Oregon. One that shines when listened in full. Highly recommended.
