This week’s feature album here on 2SER 107.3 is the debut LP from Brooklyn artist Miss Grit, aka Margaret Sohn.

Follow The Cyborg is a powerfully conceptual album that explores themes of AI self-awareness and what it means to be manufactured, to be created with specific characteristics, abilities, and knowledge to serve your creator. This incredibly tight alt-rock, art-pop, and techno album seamlessly explores deep lyrical themes of identity and free will, all while consistently maintaining listener engagement – a balance that is not often struck in concept-heavy albums.

Described as a ‘polymath’ by NME in early 2019, Sohn produced their impressive debut album entirely in their home studio with
collaborators Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint, Aron Kobayashi Ritch of Momma, and close friend and fellow songwriter Pearla. This album is a diverse, engaging, cinematic, and introspective experience. Fans of Andy Shauf, The Strokes (specifically Call it Fate, Call it Karma), Mitski,  Japanese Breakfast, and Laurie Anderson will love this album!
