FEATURE ALBUM
Laure Briard – Ne Pas Trop Rester Bleue
Words by James Fitzgerald Sice
The feature album this week on 2SER is Ne pas trop rester Bleue, the latest LP from French singer Laure Briard.
With masterful production and a kaleidoscopic set of 60s cinematic pop-style songs, it is clear from the very start that Ne pas trop rester bleu is a labour of love. Taking nearly three years to finish, Ne pas trop rester bleu was conceived as a multi-lingual autobiographical story of encounters and experiences.
Laure’s latest LP is laced with sweet harmonies, catchy riffs, and introspectively poetic storytelling, which speaks to the human condition. Laure displays a new, more optimistic and uplifting tone in this album, which sounds fabulous.
Ne pas trop rester bleue is out February 10 via Midnight Special Records, Third Eye Stimuli Records, and PWR Records.
If you are a 2SER subscriber, you can win a copy on vinyl. Tune in to the station throughout the week to find out how.
