Oro, Plata, Mata by Mo’Ju

Oro, Plata, Mata is the fourth studio album Naarm-based singer-songwriter, producer and guitarist Mojo Ruiz de Luzuriaga, aka Mo’Ju.

The title is a reference to an historical documentary (of the same name) that their uncle Peque Gallaga directed in 1982 in the Phillipines.

Hitting peak powers, Mo’Ju delivers an incredible record here, loaded with multi-faceted sonic explorations and thematic storytelling that encapsulates ecological, societal and existential anxieties  as well as challenging the glorification of wealth and fame.

All this is spread across slick, spacious RnB and Soul, rugged drumming, along with moments that verge on the cinematic. The mood is at turns both vulnerable and fierce, uplifting, and constantly brimming with tension and assertive confidence.

Oro, Plata, Mata is out now on vinyl and digital and released independently
