Silver by Say She She

The Feature Album this week on 2SER is second studio record from Brooklyn-based trio of Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham and Nya Gazelle Brown, aka Say She She. 

Written and recorded live to tape at Killion Sound studio in North Hollywood earlier this year and produced by Sergio Rios (of Orgone), Silver is an absolutely gorgeous record. of tonally warm, groovy modern soul that is heavily influenced by the sounds of early 80s NYC post-disco and 70s psychedelic funk. While modern in it’s outlook, the record is a perfectly executed homage to classic sounds, with hints of everyone from Asha Puthli to Tom Tom Club through to modern equivalents such as Escort. It’s simply an excellent record top to tail and highly recommended for anyone who enjoys substance in their dance music.
