Sing your own Song by The Andrew Gurruwiwi Band

The 2SER Feature Album by the Arnhem Land-based collective, The Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, the group fronted by keytarist, vocalist and community broadcaster Andrew Gurruwiwi.

Performed in Yolngu Matha language, Sing Your Own Song is an innovative, high energy funk, rock and reggae record, and bottles much of the live performance energy the band have become renowned for.  While many of the songs on the album are connected with ancient song lines connected to the landscape and seas of Arnhem Land and the Arafura Sea. The record was recorded at Parliament studios in Sydney and also features a range of collaborators including Moussa Diakite as well as Julien Bel Bashir and guitarist Frances Diatschenko. A fantastic debut and highly recommended.
