FEATURE ALBUM

Summer of Love by Jess Ribeiro

The Feature Album this week on 2SER is Summer of Love, the fourth studio record from Melbourne singer/songwriter Jess Ribeiro.

It’s a gorgeously produced art-folk record, with beautiful production and a cinematic feel, featuring Jim White (Xylouris White, The Dirty Three) and Dave Mudie (Courtney Barnett) on drums and percussion, Darcy McNulty on saxophone, folk-diviner Leah Senior on keys, James Seymour on bass, Carrie Webster on violin and viola. Highly recommended.

Summer of Love explores expectation versus reality in a way that is both intimate and transfixing. Revelling in pensive and still moments, while digging deep into the present, past, and desired future as it traverses isolation, loss, love, once-in-a-century pandemics and healing.

Summer of Love is out now on vinyl and digital (plus some cool shirts) via Poison City Records
