Whoopee by J. McFarlane’s Reality Guest

Welcome back! Our first Feature Album for 2024, and we’re starting with a gentle landing, a rainy day wonder, care of  J. McFarlane‘s Reality Guest. 

Whoopee is the second full record from the Naarm-based multi-instrumental experimentalist (and ex-Twerp’s member) under her Reality Guest moniker, and it’s an heroic dose of sublime, watery electronica, blunted lo-fi soundscapes and jazzy soul interspersed with strange & airy passages of playful sampling coupled with McFarlane’s own vocals. It unfolds like a surreal dream and we highly recommend diving in.
