Federal Government Moves to Expose Trolls on Social Media

Social media companies may be forced to give up names and addresses of internet trolls to authorities under proposed legislation that may come into Federal Parliament early next year. The bill aims to help users who have been attacked or harassed in a way that could be considered defamation if they wish to prosecute their trollers. This comes after a recent high court ruling that has found that people running a page or group are liable for the comments made on their posts rather than the platform it was posted on.
