First astronomers
When was the last time you looked up into the night sky and felt the expansive wonder of the stars?
In Australia, humans have doing exactly that for tens of thousands of years, using the stars to tell stories, and for science!
The first astronomers in Australia were, of course, First Nations people, who held a huge amount of scientific knowledge about the sky above us, and this knowledge continues to be taught today by people like Kirsten Banks – astronomer and guide with Sydney Observatory. Kirsten joined Jess in the studio on Saturday.
