First Nations communities critical to environmental conservation efforts
Last week the Global Nature Positive Summit kicked off in Sydney, bringing leaders together from across the world to discuss effective ways to protect and repair our environment.
First Nations leaders and representatives across different sectors gathered at the summit to build understanding of the changes required to value nature and address biodiversity loss.
New Zealand granted legal personhood to the Whanganui River seven years ago, thanks to the Maori community, and now the site is protected.
