First Nations People are fighting for their place at the table as the government begins to establish plans for climate action.
Often left behind, traditional owners are concerned about how the Morrison government’s approach to climate change, or lack thereof, will impact the health and safety of their communities.
To address this, members of the Indigenous Peoples Organisation are advocating for members of their community to be at the forefront of Australia’s climate action.
Kado Muir, activist and member of the IPO spoke to the Wire’s Ayla Liebenberg about the importance of including Indigenous people in climate policy.
