First Nations votes are more valuable than expected: research
A new analysis from the Australian National University shows First Nations votes matter, and not just in regional Australia.
The analysis found out several marginal seats have more Indigenous eligible voters than the electoral margin at the last election. But to give more empowerment to First Nations votes, the Australian Electoral Commission needs to implement several tasks to allow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to enrol and engage with the community.
