Sometimes, first impressions last, and this is the driver of one of the top five Australian shorts from Flickerfest, ‘ Cactus’ (2023). The film explores gentrification, community, and multiculturalism in Sydney’s inner-west. But more importantly, it shows how hate at first sight can turn into a lifelong, endearing bond.
