Flowerpots Help Biodiversity

You probably wouldn’t think that a simple flowerpot can help enhance biodiversity in marine environments, but they can. The Coastal and Marine Eco Systems Group from the University of Sydney has installed 60 flowerpots to Sydney harbor’s seawalls.

In a previous trial project at Blackwattle Bay at the foreshore in Glebe, the flowerpots were a success and it turned out they not only attracted, but also protected vulnerable species.

Associate Professor Ross Coleman from the Coastal and Marine Eco System Group at the University of Sydney, joined us today to talk about the project.
