FOGO now in NSW Schools

Did you know that almost 40% of the general waste we produce is food?

If you are unfamiliar with the term FOGO (Food organics & garden organics), it is a weekly collection of food scraps and organic materials from homes. So, if we have it in our homes, wouldn’t it make sense to have the same system in our schools?

Councillor Kym Chapple from the Greens, Deputy Mayor of Randwick City Council has been trying to implement this for plan some time now, and with the help of a speech written by Amy, a Year, 6 student from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, this plan has been approved.

Kym and Amy from joined Danny Chifley on 2SER Breakfast to discuss this latest win and where to next.
