Free public transport for Tasmanian commuters
The living cost for all Australians have seen significant rises in the last few months. With petrol prices skyrocketing to over $2 per litre, driving is no longer an option for many individuals. Tasmanians in particular have been hit hard, having on average theĀ highest cost for fuel out of all states.
To help offset some of the living cost, the government has announced starting on Monday that all Tasmanians can access free public transport for the next 5 weeks.
It is a welcomed initiative for current commuters to save cost on travel. But is it enough to help ease the growing concern for managing living expenses, or could the government be doing more?
