Free Speech in Lockdown
In a time such as COVID, there has been endless discussion surrounding the spread of misinformation and opposing opinions regarding the pandemic. As protests against the COVID-19 related lockdown continue, people are gaining strength and a sense of empowerment to speak up for what they believe in, whether their views align with the greater majority or not. But what does it mean when these individuals who are voicing their opinions are being given the same power of voice as experts in the field? We were joined by Luke Zaphir, a researcher for the University of Queensland Critical Thinking Project, to discuss this imbalance of authority amongst individuals.
