The Future of Chinese-Australian Relations in the Asian Century
As we move into what is being called the Asian century China is set to become one of Australia’s most important global partners. We have a relationship forged in trade, largely of raw materials that China had needed over the past few decades, including one of our biggest exports: coal. But with demand for renewable energy increasing and coal prices dropping, what does the future hold for our two nations? Geoffrey James from the Institute of Sustainable Futures at UTS joined The Daily to speak about ‘China’s Energy Transition: The Way Forward’, and academic event that’s discussing what Australia and China’s relastionship might look like in the future.
A free event, ‘China’s Energy Transition: The Way Forward’ will be held on Tuesday, 5 April 2016 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. To register for tickets head to https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/chinas-energy-transition-the-way-forward-tickets-22819408465
