The future of offshore processing on Manus Island

The Supreme Court of Papua New Guinea has deemed the Manus Regional Processing Centre to be illegal, and has ordered its immediate shutdown.
In a statement, Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has ordered the Australian government to find alternative arrangements for the asylum seekers already at the centre.
