Gapu-Monuk Saltwater: a remarkable story of Indigenous sea rights

2017 marks 10 years since the Blue Mud Bay Legal Case. It’s a historic case, in which the Yolnu people of northeast Arnhem Land fought for their Indigenous Sea Rights in an unprecedented way. On now at the Australian Maritime Museum is Gapu-Monuk Saltwater: Journey to Sea Country, an exhibition encapsulating this story, with a wealth of information about the land, language and culture in question.
Co-curator Helen Anu joins us to explain more about the exhibition.
