Garry King on Self Injury

Self harm is on the rise for young Australians, with many instances of the activity being underreported. It is currently estimated that 17% among females aged 15-18 and 12% of males in the same age bracket currently self-harm, but more accurate figures could be much higher. So how can we alert parents to support their children to seek help? Jess was joined by Garry King, a researcher from Griffith University’s Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention and author of a new book, ‘What Every Parent Should Know About Their Child and Self Injury’.
