Gen Z and Olympic’s Tradition

Olympic traditions are long-standing and have been preserved for many generations. Gen Z – born between 1997 and 2009 –  are widely considered to be distinct from their predecessors as the first digitally native generation.

Gen Z is currently playing an important role in Australia’s competitive sport. The question is can The Games modernise to attract new audiences, while at the same time preserving the traditions and prestige that have developed over 128 years?

We have Dr Hunter Fujak, Senior Lecturer in Sport Management, Deakin University  on the line to talk about the Olympics through the lens of Gen Z.
