Gender imbalance in physics

They say that great minds think alike, yet in the world of physics, gender imbalance persist due to discrimination and harassment towards women and non-binary people in the field.

Survey results from the UK Royal Astronomical Society as revealed in The Conversation last week shows that 50% of women and non-binary people are more likely to be bullied than men.

So why in a field where the focus should be to explain and understand the world, do we see such a high percentage of bullying and exclusion directed towards women and non-binary people?

One of the authors from the article, Professor of Astrophysics from Swinburne University of Technology, Sarah Maddison joined Tina Quinn on The Daily.
