Getting up from a Coma

The brain is one of the most powerful things we have and at the same time it’s really fragile, all it takes is the wrong knock on the head and you could end up in a coma.

But how much of what we know about comas is hollywood exaggeration? We’ve all seen it on TV, the camera pans onto a face in the hospital and suddenly they spring up and they’re out of their coma. How realistic is it and what’s the recovery process like?

Mtich talks with Gerald Edmunds the Secretary General of the Brain Foundation on comas, what can be done and the often unheard of aspects of them.
