Glitter Police-The Fight Against Microplastics
From Christmas decorations to music festivals, glitter is everywhere and they are notoriously hard to get off. What happens to those colourful specs of joy after you’ve managed to clean them away? You may be surprised to know glitter is one of many plastic pollutants classed as a microplastic and a growing list of scientists and environmentalists around the world are calling for it to be banned. Professor Anas Ghadouani, head of Aquatic Ecology and Ecosystem Studies at the University of Western Australia, spoke to us about it.
