Government introduces legislation to secure salmon farming

The Federal Government is set to introduce last-minute legislation to guarantee salmon farming in Tasmania’s Macquarie Harbour, despite the threat to the endangered species.
The move, supported by the Coalition, would limit environmental groups’ ability to challenge approvals.
PM Anthony Albanese defended the decision, saying his government “makes no apologies for supporting jobs…” The Wire’s Calvin Lee asked Fisheries and Threatened Species Campaign Manager at Australian Marine Conservation Society, Alexia Wellbelove, what this bill means for Macquarie Harbour.
