GP’s will leave Regional Australia – Anne Ruston
Senator The Hon Anne Ruston has pointed to the changes the government has made to the Distribution Priority Areas for overseas-trained Doctors and argues that this will take GP’s away from already stretched services in regional Australia.
The government also has temporarily extended the PBS schedule for the lifesaving fast acting insulin Fiasp affecting the 15,000 people with type 1 diabetes – but she questions why this can’t be permanently available to diabetics. Additionally the new Aged Care policy means that Aged Care facilities are closing down thanks to a paucity of consultation and little understanding of the cost structure for many Aged Care facilities.
