Green Energy Exports
Australia could be a lead exporter of green energy in the form of electricity and hydrogen and other commodities like steel, aluminium and ammonia.
Currently our economy rests on coal, natural gas and iron ore exports and the prospects going forward are not good. Fortunately, there are some low-emission alternatives, which could make a major contribution to reducing emissions in the whole Asia-Pacific region according to keynote speaker Professor Paul Burke Head of the Arndt-Corden Department of Economics at Australian National University’s Crawford School.
The Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES) Conference, is being held from 7-11 February. AARES is the pre-eminent society promoting research relevant to Australasia in agricultural, environmental, food, and resource economics and agribusiness.
