Health system urgently needs a Sustainable Development Unit
The ongoing devastating floods in Queensland and New South Wales coupled with lasting impacts of the 2019-20 bushfires highlights climate change becoming increasingly more intense, unpredictable, and impacting the livelihoods and health of millions of Australians. It also emphasises the importance of climate change being addressed in Australia’s health care system.
Advocates say a National Sustainable Development Unit similar to the one in the UK is needed in Australia to address the impacts of climate change.
