Hear the Murray River Sing

What do you think the Murray River sounds like? The song of the Murray River is being recorded by a group of researchers from the fields of science, music, and overall wilderness. They’re traveling the entire length of the river by kayak, starting in Kosciuszko National Park in southeast NSW and ending in South Australia. It’s called the Helping the River Sing project, and the hope is to connect people to the Murray’s importance.

The Daily was joined by Professor Meredith Hope, Honorary Lecturer at the Fenner School of Environment & Society at the Australian National University, to talk more about this exciting project.
