Helping Teenagers Deal With Violent Content on Social Media
Since the Christchurch mass shootings, Facebook has received a lot of criticism for its moderation of graphic content. The broadcasting of the harrowing, violent livestream of the shooting has renewed the conversation about the distribution of violent imagery through social media, and the effect it might be having on adolescents.
To help us unpack this issue and present some possible solutions, The Daily was joined by Dr Rachael Sharman, a senior lecturer in psychology at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
