HIV-Prevention Drug, PrEP, Secures Listing On PBS
Federal Health Minister, Greg Hunt will today announce a significant drop in the price of HIV prevention drug, PrEP after it was listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. This move paves the way for Australia to become the first country in the world to eliminate the transmission of HIV.
This is a huge development for Australian public health, and will bring the cost of the preventative drug down from a whopping $10,000 a year to only $40 a month.
