Are hospitals equipped to deal with sick mothers?

Motherhood is stressful at the best of times, but it can become even more so if you have an illness.

Be it a mental illness or a physical one, mothers can struggle with how to ‘mother’ from a hospital bed.

Dr Tamara Power from the Faculty of Health at the University of Technology Sydney has looked extensively at this area, and found that medical staff aren’t all that cluey on how to help mothers faced with challenging illnesses.
