Campfire Sessions at Cockatoo Island
This summer, spend Saturday afternoons taking in the magic of Cockatoo Island at dusk while enjoying relaxed acoustic performances from a range of leading underground musicians. Encompassing genres such as soul, blues, jazz, pop and folk, each week Campfire Sessions will welcome new guest performers as they bring to the stage intimate songs and stories of life, love and loss.

Sunday marks the opening of St George Open Air Cinema. Situated on Mrs Macquaries Point against a backdrop spanning the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and city skyline, St.George OpenAir Cinema is a premium lifestyle experience, where the allure of film is combined with fine food and wine, and postcard views.
From early evening patrons gather with friends at the harbour’s edge to make the most of the stunning views and vibrant atmosphere. Some of the big summer releases playing include sci-fi romance The Shape of Water, Winston Churchill biopic Darkest Hour, coming-of-age comedy Lady Bird and much more.
Monday, ongoing
El’Circo captivates audiences with the charm and flavour of Parisian cabaret. Created by French born Marc Kuzma, El’Circo is timeless, yet original – a little piece of Europe in the heart of Sydney. The cast is comprised of some of the most talented aerial performers, the most enthralling statuesque dancers, and the strongest pole performers in the industry.
Tuesday
Tuesday is your very last chance to see Aquasonic. The avant-garde ensemble Between Music have spent years researching the possibilities of performing music underwater. AquaSonic is the result of numerous experiments with scientists, deep-sea divers and craftspeople to develop a style of singing and create instruments capable of being played underwater – such as the hydraulophone and the electromagnetic harp.
Wednesday
Sounds on the Terrace returns this Wednesday! Newtown beer barons Young Henrys will be joining forces with the MCA for this season of mid-week art and music parties. Sounds on the Terrace will see the brew crew curate a series of gigs up on the MCA’s rooftop, Sculpture Terrace.
Thursday
Head to Fairfield this week for Midsummer Open Mic night, a monthly exchange of Music, Poetry and Ideas held on the second Thursday of every month from 5pm at Lost in Books.
Friday
Summer Somedays is back at Campbelltown Arts Centre this January. Enjoy live music, cool cocktails and awesome food in a beautiful outdoor courtyard setting.
