The National Art School’s Bar of Love and Protest

Today marks the last day of The National Art School’s Bar of Love and Protest, which has been a beautiful blend of Mardi Gras and NAS’ current exhibitions. Tonight they are hosting a free parade warm up party, where local artists can doll you up with lots of glitter to get you Mardi Gras ready! The bar opens at midday and runs until 6pm. (Pictured)

This annual conference covers anything and everything related to women. There’s an incredible range of issues and ideas explored spanning from yoga to trump to podcasting to love and even gin! Booking for these events is vital.

MCA 2018 Zine Fair Applications Closing

Sunday is the last day to apply for the MCA 2018 Zine Fair! Submissions can be done online, and there is a $10 application fee. All entries are due at midnight!

Read to Me at Knox Street Bar

Read to Me is a live storytelling event showcasing the works of some of Australia and the worlds’ best cartoonists and storytellers. This week features the work of Lizzie Nagy, Samuel John McEwen and Lucie Towers to name a few. This is all happening at Knox Street Bar in Chippendale at 7.30pm.

A Plastic Ocean – Screening at Juanita Nielsen Community Centre

A Plastic Ocean is a new feature-length adventure documentary that brings to light the consequences of our global disposable lifestyle. If you are keen to learn more about the international crisis occurring within our oceans, checking out this film is the best place to start. The screening is free and kicks off at 7.30pm.

International Women’s Day at The MCA

This Thursday marks the MCA’s event for International Women’s Day for 2018. You can catch panel discussions, enjoy banner making workshops, learn to collage and more! You’ll also have a great opportunity to mingle with artists and curators from the gallery. This is all happening for free, but be sure to reserve yourself a spot online.

Twilight at Taronga: Mount Kimbie

Check out the Zoo and some live music during the Twilight at Taronga series. This week catch Mount Kimbie on their national tour with supports from Christopher Port and Kučka. Grab tickets for $77, and you will also get entry into the zoo!
